{"id":504,"date":"2008-06-24T16:00:15","date_gmt":"2008-06-24T23:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.reenigne.org\/blog\/?p=504"},"modified":"2008-06-24T14:16:47","modified_gmt":"2008-06-24T21:16:47","slug":"map-showing-river-basins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reenigne.org\/blog\/map-showing-river-basins\/","title":{"rendered":"Map showing river basins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;d be interested to see a map of the UK where each point was coloured according to where the water that falls on the land corresponding to that point reaches the ocean.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfduk.org\/implementation\/4-6\/view\">Here<\/a>&#8216;s an example of the kind of thing I&#8217;m thinking of, except that this isn&#8217;t very detailed &#8211; while it looks right for the Thames basin, lots of smaller rivers get bunched together (for example in the South-West).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/DOCREP\/005\/Y2807E\/y2807e01.jpg\">This<\/a> is a bit more like it but for Africa. Note that there are some regions which do not appear to be adjacent to any coast &#8211; this means that all the water from these areas ends up in interior lakes and ultimately evaporates again.
